Just an another outrage that goes quietly unnoticed in our world where some people count and others do not.

SLA chases away uprooted families in Ki'linochchi suburb
The Sri Lanka Army has chased away a group of uprooted Tamil families when they went to temporarily reside in their own buildings in Ponnakar village, located 1.5 km in the Karaichchi DS division in Ki'linochchi district, after their temporary huts provided in low-lying lands were submerged in the floods earlier this month. They were told by the SLA to find other places than their own buildings even if it was for a temporary period of time till they were able to return to their huts. Ponnakar village is located 1.5 k.m south of Kil'linochchi town.
The families were chased away by the SLA in the first week of December 2010.
They undergo untold suffering including the spread of diseases among their children and elders and health authorities have warned them of infections in the wet conditions at their temporary shelters that remained under rain water.
People of Ponnakar village were displaced leaving their own houses during the latter part of 2008. It is one of the many villages of Vanni that suffered destruction and loss of valuable properties during the military operation launched by the Sri Lanka Army with air attack and artillery fire to capture Kil'linochchi town.
