For theoretical weekends at Scission I am presenting a book review that is really not just a book review. The author of the review, Sergio Bologna is a veteran Italian autonomist.
The book, "Storming Heaven" by Steve Wright is one of the best available histories about Autonomist Marxism.
As usual, it isn't short.
I realize many are totally unfamiliar with the whole concept of autonomist marxism. I will tell you two things. It is not the same as operaisamo (which is mostly what the review below talks about), although it certainly is related and, in my opinion, kind of grew out of. Second, unlike your vanguard folks, we autonomists actually, horror of horror, allow for a difference of opinion. Consequently, I once more advise you that while I am posting the Bologna piece below, which is mostly history, I disagree with many of his conclusions. There are in fact other reviews with which I agree more. But that is okay, I'll probably put them here some day, too.
As often, it is from Libcom.
