THINGS THAT GO BOOM IN THE NIGHT

Always glad to see the world rid of some chemical weapons, BUT does exploding them around populated areas sound like a great idea to you. I'm not technologically savvy enough to have any real idea what that would mean, but I know I wouldn't want this happening anywhere near me. Would you?

  1. The chemical munitions wouldn't be detonated in the open, but rather in large steel vessels designed specifically to contain the explosion and carefully filter all emissions before being allowed to vent into the atmosphere. Europeans have been using this technology to destroy old WWI munitions for years. It's quite well proven and safe.
